October Long Weekend Tour
Posted on August 25 2016
Update: we'll be leaving at 9am sharp on Saturday October 1st, from Queen Elizabeth Park on Main St, Lithgow. If you're catching the train on the morning, the 5.48am from Central is the one to get. Otherwise you could stay in Lithgow or the Blue Mountains and ride down in the morning. Get in touch if you'd like to come and have any questions - we're keen to make sure everyone feels prepared.
There's a long weekend coming up in October, and what better way to make the most of a day off work than to spend it touring!
We'll be riding Lithgow to Mittagong over three days (1-3 October) - which makes it much more achievable than the two days we did it in last time. You'll be riding through the magnificent old forest of the Kanangra Boyd National Park, up and down some massive hills and along backroads to visit some of the most gorgeous scenery New South Wales has to offer!
You'll be riding on a variety of roads - some sealed, some dirt, some rough fire trails. Here's the finalised route:
There will be hills. There will be blood (just joking, hopefully not). You'll need to be fit, and pack light.
If you need some more convincing (or are more of a visual person), here are some photos from the last time we did it.
You should aim to be totally self-sufficient. You'll need to bring some kind of shelter (a tent or tarp), sleeping bag, mat, cooking equipment, food, and everything else you would need to spend three days out in the bush!
Camping at Wombeyan Caves will cost $15 per person, which is payable when you arrive.
If you have any questions, concerns, queries, or just want to express your excitement at this ripper of a ride - call us or pop in!
