An emergency tool that we think no touring cyclist should be without ! Allows you to replace a broken spoke regardless of wheel size and without dedicated tools to remove cassette or disc rotors that would block access for conventional spoke replacement.
Carrying spare spokes on tour is a real challenge, the length needs to be exact within a mm or two, front and rear wheels are different and even drive side and non drive side can vary. So inevitably even if you have a spare spoke it's the wrong length, or it's right for your bike but then your friend's bike needs a different one.
Then to make life more difficult you generally need to remove the cassette and or disc rotor to replace a broken spoke which requires heavy bulky tools and mechanical knowledge.
The fiberfix works on any bikes and has been used by staff here to fix their own bikes on remote tours overseas.
The tool is tiny, about half the size of a film canister and weighs like 20grams.
