Distance: 100km
Suggested duration: 2 days

Day 1 (45km)

Catch the train along the Newcastle and Central Coast line until you reach Gosford. Ride north along the quieter road west of the river, and then turn east on a bicycle path that follows Tuggerah Lake around to the coast. Ride north to a campsite in the Munmorah State Conservation Area - either Freemans or Frazers camping area (current fees listed here - booking in advance is recommended). Both campgrounds are right next to a beach, but Frazers is smaller and a bit nicer.

Day 2 (55km)

Continue north on-and-off the Pacific Highway, before joining the Fernleigh Track at Belmont. This is a beautiful off-road cycleway that will take you through some beautiful scenery. Ride triumphantly into Newcastle, eat a huge meal, and get the train back to Sydney.
