Marulan to Nowra (3 days)
Suggested duration: 3 days
Getting there: There are infrequent trains to Marulan from Central. Depending on the day of the week, you might need to catch the train up the night before you start your ride.
Supplies: Water is available in Marulan, then at Bungonia campsite, then at Nerriga pub. There's a takeaway with greasy food, chocolate and ice-creams just before Windellama (day 2). Chips, ice-creams and beer are available from the Nerriga Hotel (day 2).
Day 1 (29km)
Cross the highway (being very careful of traffic) and ride for a short distance before turning off left towards Bungonia. When you reach Bungonia, turn left towards Bungonia National park. Stay the night at Bungonia Campground (bookings necessary). Since it's only a short day, check out the lookouts and do a bushwalk. If you have time, hike down to the river and go for a swim. This campsite has not only toilets and a camp kitchen, but also hot showers!
Day 2 (71km)
Ride back to Bungonia and the main road, then continue through some very pretty countryside. There are a few hills towards the end of the day. Have a beer at Nerriga Hotel, then roll down the hill to the Endrick River (turn right just after the river to find a campsite, no facilities).
Day 3 (69km)
Wake up and grunt up the hill. Then roll along for a while, mostly downhill. Stop at Tianjara Falls for lunch. Continue down to Nowra, and ride over the bridge to Bomaderry train station. Since you need to change trains at Kiama on the way back, you may as well go for a swim there.
