Karate Monkey complete bikes now come with Tektro 2-piston hydraulic brakes!
The Extra Small in purple still has the mechanical brakes, which we recommend upgrading to some Shimano Deore 4-piston hydraulic brakes (we'll install them for free if you purchase them with the bike).

The Surly Karate Monkey is a do-it-all bikepacking, touring, mountain biking, or even hectic commuter bike. Fun enough for good time and serious enough for the long haul.
